Renton, WA New Construction- May2014

This article is an update of our March 2014 and April 2014 snapshots of the new home market in Renton, WA.

Renton remains Western Washington's ninth most active city for new homes in terms of total listings for sale and fifth in terms of total market value. There are 70 new homes across 18 communities for sale in Renton at this time, down from 78 new homes across 19 communities for sale in March 2014 and up from 67 new homes in 19 communities in April. Ashbrook, a community of moderately priced single family homes reviewed in previous snapshots, sold its last available listing May 12, 2014. There are therefore no homes available in Ashbrook as of the time of this writing. For the latest information, please see our Renton new construction page which is updated on a daily basis.

Developments and New Home Prices in Renton

New home prices in Renton have remained relatively stable in the past few months. In the past snapshots we've mentioned  Galloway at the Highlands, a community of townhomes that begin in the mid-$300s, the lower end of housing prices for Renton. Now that the moderately priced Ashbrook is sold out, other communities for single family homes between the high $300s and low $500s include Gem Sunset, Cedar Ave Plat and Cavalla. Homes priced over $500k can be found in the Beclan and Honey Creek East communities. 

New single family homes for sale in Renton have an average listing price of $591,143 for a 3,081 square foot home, or $192 per square foot. Over the last six months, the actual sales price for a new single family home has averaged $553,652 for a 2,876 square foot home, or $193 per square foot.

Active Home Builders in Renton

Many of Western Washington's home builders are building in Renton. Popular homebuilder Toll Brothers Camwest has added three homes to its Renton communities in the past month, DR Horton has added two. Quadrant's available homes diminished once again in May, from four in April to just one as of this writing.
